A Love for Technology, Born from Curiosity

Though I spent a decade as a woodworker, tech always had my heart. Late nights tinkering with computers eventually turned into a bold career change. I went back to school, got my degree, and landed my first job at Roularta Media Group as an Oracle Developer. That leap set me on a path to where I am now—working on challenging projects that I love and geeking out about cloud infrastructure and devops practices every day. I'm preaching multicloud but if I'm really honest I do have a weakness for AWS, it's just.. better. I recently started working on some GCP projects as well and to be fair, it rocks too.

The Day Job(s)

These days, I run my own company, Odileon, where I do everything tech-related, from building websites to solving complex technical puzzles. I'm checking out business opportunities as that keeps me going. By day (and sometimes nights or early mornings), I’m also a freelance consultant for NubeX Cloud eXperts, a Belgium-based cloud company within the Cronos Group. My focus? Cloud Architecture, Kubernetes, and DevOps for medium to large clients.

You’ll usually find me deep into tools like Terraform, GitHub, and ArgoCD—three lifesavers I couldn’t do without. I’m all about getting my hands dirty, keeping communication straightforward, and solving problems with a pragmatic approach. Oh, and let’s get one thing straight: I really don’t like Windows Servers.

Beyond the Tech

When I’m not working, I’m diving into my hobbies—whether it’s working out, watching UFC or boxing, or following geo-politics. Of course, most of my free time revolves around family life, from watching my youngest son score goals to seeing my oldest throw down on the judo mat. As we speak I'm still working on the complete renovation of our family home.

I'm also a lifelong supporter of Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht, and both of my sons are as well—though, to be fair, they don’t really have a choice! Growing up just 40 kilometers from Bruges made this allegiance an exciting challenge from a young age, but hey, who wants to be a sheep anyway?

My Spotify playlist is a mix of hip-hop, techno, house, and rock tracks. I also find myself listening to the Joe Rogan Experience daily, as it covers just about every one of my interests.

Why This Website?

This blog is my way of giving back. I often find myself searching other blogs for solutions to tricky problems. Now, when I uncover something new or frustrating, I can share it here with the hope it helps someone else. Plus, there’s something oddly satisfying about writing—it clears my mind. I'll add a post now and then and probably do some other cool stuff here to.
